Is it a bird, is it a plane, no, it is a white gold and gemstone dragonfly that can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant.
The client wanted to treat herself, and why not. She loves dragonflies, the iridescent colours that catch your eye as they flutter past. The idea that a brooch could also sometimes be worn as a pendant would be a bonus, with a little bit of Clarity designing, that was possible.
Using my “Under The Sea” pattern for the wings and lots of coloured gemstones for the eyes, head, thorax and segmented abdomen and a subtle touch of 18ct yellow gold, altogether reflect light and colour. Gemstones used are tiny, tiny sapphires, they took concentration to set, peridots, lapis lazuli, turquoise, green tourmaline, topaz, iolite and amethyst.
